Back in 1988 or 1987 I went to see India vs. Pakistan cricket match in Dhaka stadium. It was the Wills Asia cup.

I remember very clearly that the stadium was full and there was hardly any Indian supporters. The entire stadium , including myself who was a West Indies fan, supported Pakistan like crazy.

Now let me be back to today. I am not watching cricket anymore. But my Facebook keeps me informed and showers me with people's reactions after each world cup game.

There is hardly anyone (probably no one) that I know who was not supporting New Zealand against India today.

After 30+ years , Bangladeshi support in cricket has not changed much, and against India “United we stand” in cricket.

This same Bangali listens to Indian songs, watch Indian movies, watch Indian TV, wear Indian cloths and ornaments, eat Indian food, and politically bow to Indians like masters as their slaves …yet, Bangali uses cricket as the only means for expressing the great Bangal's symbolic token of India hatred. That is the best the Beer Bangali can do.
